Lyrical is a beautiful and expressive class perfect for dancers who love to move with both grace and energy. Combining the elegance of ballet with the creativity and style of jazz, lyrical dance helps young dancers tell stories through movement and connect to the music in a meaningful way. In this class, dancers will learn how to express emotion, feeling, and storytelling by interpreting the lyrics of the music. They will build strength, flexibility, control, and smooth, flowing movement while learning choreography that is both fun and expressive. Because lyrical dance is strongly rooted in ballet technique, we recommend that students are also enrolled in ballet to help support their growth and development as dancers. This class is designed for ages 7–10 and is a wonderful way for kids to explore creativity while continuing to build strong dance skills.

Recital: Dancers will perform a lyrical dance in the recital.

Dress Code

Girls need a leotard for all classes, jazz shorts optional. Boys need black dance pants and a tee shirt.

Shoes: Girls – Baily’s tan pull-on, Boys Black pull on.
