We love our little dancers!

Dansations specializes in teaching young children ages 18 months – 5 years of age. “We love working with our youngest dancers. we want to ensure that their first dance experience is a magical moment for them.” – Says Miss Liza, owner of Dansations. We have worked hard to develop a curriculum that is age appropriate for young children and their developmental skills.
We offer Baby & Me classes for 18 months- 3 years old for children that are not quit ready to leave their grown up. For 2-3 year old’s that are ready to be on their own, they can take our Combo 1 class. As the name suggests, this class offers a combination of tap, jazz, ballet & creative movement. 3-4 year old’s can take combo 2, and 5-6 year old’s can take combo 3. The classes build off of each other allowing for children to make a smooth transition as the grow.
Here are some secrets to our success:
Consistancy-
Children love consistency. Knowing what comes next helps them feel safe and in control. This is why toddlers will watch the same movie or TV show over and over again. They love knowing what happens. At Dansations we want to make sure your child has a strong sense of consistency throughout the year. We start each class with the same warm up songs and movements. slowly over time we will add new material in a way that keeps them learning while allowing them to feel safe.

Exceptional Staff-
Dansations is proud of our exceptional staff. All of our teachers that work with ages 5 and under have a true gift for working with such young children. They are patient, kind and caring. Our teachers are wonderful at helping little ones calm down and dry their tears. They understand young children and their needs. Their excitement and passion for teaching little ones is contagious. The children cannot help but loving dance class!
Creative Movement with Props
At Dansations we understand that young children need to move freely. That is why we incorporate creative movement into each combo class. Children will dance with magic wands, teddy bears, ribbons, bean bags and musical instruments. These props keep the children active and engaged in class. We also use cones, tunnels, mats and more to keep these little ones moving and having fun!
Why Should Toddlers Dance?
Here are 5 reasons why toddlers should dance:
CONFIDENCE
Time spent with other kids is always productive for a child’s development, but learning and growing in the dance studio with peers helps a child’s confidence tremendously. Many times, kids are shy and quiet in the first days, but not after long you can see sharing, helping and assertiveness start to develop in your toddler.
COURAGE
Some kids are really BRAVE. Some kids are a little afraid. What dance can help teach is courage. Courage is a bit different than bravery. Courage is knowing that something is scary, and overcoming it and performing despite obstacles. Learning in the world of dance can help build courage and socialization.
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS
Dance involves individual instruction, but also team instruction. Obviously you’ve seen choreography before, if you’ve ever seen dance performed. Dancing can be really helpful in developing a child’s attention and direction taking. Dancers learn the value of following direction and seeing the results of their hard work.
MEMORY AND COGNITION
You may not consider dancing to be something that would help build a child’s brain, but if you put your kid in a dance class you will see it first hand. Toddlers deserve all the instruction and development as possible during these crucial years, and you will see how the choreography and memorization of dance numbers will really sharpen your kids mind.
FUN
Of course all these things we talked about are great, but we can not leave out the biggest reason of all. DANCING IS FUN. It can help in so many ways but the bottom line is everyone that works at Dansations is committed to the world of dance because we truly love it and it is so enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to take your kid to have a great time, you’ve found it.
